MyPennyPal is a personal budgeting app made by Ayrey Limited. A budgeting app sees a lot about your life, so this page sets out plainly what we collect, why we need it, and what we will never do with it.
The short version. We collect what is needed to run your account and your budget, and nothing else. We do not sell or share your information with anyone else. There are no adverts and no tracking in the app. You can delete everything at any time.
What we collect

What we do not collect
- Your bank details. MyPennyPal does not connect to any bank and cannot see your accounts. Every figure is one you typed.
- Card or payment numbers. The app takes no payments.
- Your location. The app never asks for it.
- Your contacts, photos library, health or fitness data.
- Analytics or crash telemetry. There is no analytics or crash-reporting SDK in the app, so we cannot see how you use it.
We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, and we do not combine it with data from other companies. There is no advertising network in the app and nothing tracks you across other apps or sites.
Who processes data on our behalf
We use a small number of suppliers purely to run the service. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Our hosting provider — runs the servers and database holding your account and records.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — delivers push notifications, if you enable them. It receives the notification and your device token, not your financial records.
- Google and Apple — only if you choose “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Apple”. They confirm who you are; they do not receive your budget.
- Our email provider — sends password resets and verification emails.
How your data is protected
- Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted.
- Passwords are stored using a one-way hash (Argon2id). Nobody at Ayrey Limited can read your password — not even to help you.
- Support staff can trigger a password-reset email to your address, but can never set or view a password.
- You can add a passcode, fingerprint or face lock on your device, and hide all figures on screen with one tap.
How long we keep it
Your records are kept while your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and financial records. Sign-in security logs are kept briefly and then discarded. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis, so deleted data can persist in backups for a short period before it is gone for good.
Your rights
- See your data. Export everything from Settings → Data & account.
- Correct it. Every entry is editable in the app.
- Delete it. Delete your account in Settings, or email us and we will do it.
- Object or complain. Contact us first — and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
MyPennyPal is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
